Torrefied wood is stored in a buffer reservoir which is pressure-shock resistant to 2.0 bar before it is transferred via a screw conveyor to the pulveriser where it is ground. The dust obtained in this way is pneumatically injected into a 120 m³ pulverised coal silo. Explosion-proof loading equipment enables the material to be discharged into silo vehicles for onward transport to the Dendermonde incinerator. A 280 m³ coal dust silo is used as a buffer silo for temporary storage of the wood dust before combustion. All silos are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to avoid dust explosions. Kurz Silosysteme managed the project from planning via supply and installation to commissioning. Torrefied wood: Power station operators are particularly interested in torrefied biomass. which in this case is wood which is partially carbonised in the absence of air and thus gains a higher energy density and requires reduced effort during subsequent grinding. | ||
