The project in the Swiss canton of Wallis will use the head between two reservoirs for the generation of peak electricity. The pumped storage power station will have an output of about 600 megawatts. The station is built completely underground. Bolted KURZ gravel silos with dewatering cones are used to store the quarried materials from the galleries. The material is taken from the breaker silo, crushed in the downstream breaker and passed to sand and chipping processing. The stored material is then used to make concrete. | ||
